Highlands Foot and Ankle Institute News

Learning & Sharing Ideas

The Highland’s Foot and Ankle Institute has hosted two very successful accredited medical education programs, Vail in 2006, and Copper Mountain in 2008. We invited our program graduates and residents to present interesting topics in a three day forum with an open exchange of techniques and ideas. The feedback we received from those in attendance was overwhelmingly in favor of continuing the program every two years at a mountain resort in Colorado.

Our next program will once again be held at Copper Mountain Resort and Conference Center, February 4-6, 2010. Copper Mountain is conveniently located next to several resorts and has offered us very reasonable rates on accommodations for both individuals and families.

The meeting will also correspond with the 34th anniversary of the Highland’s Presbyterian St Lukes Podiatric Residency Program. Our program continues to train the country’s top podiatric surgeons and is recognized as one of the premier residency programs. The goal is to continue the legacy, come together and share ideas with our colleagues, exchange techniques and findings, and enjoy our common bond.

We will dedicate the 2010 meeting to one of our first graduates [1977], David F. Holz, DPM, FACFAS, who passed away in October, 2008. David exemplified the quality and integrity of our graduates. He continued to be active in the residency program throughout his career. He will be missed.

Your participation is paramount to the success of the Institute. We invite you to attend, participate and speak at the upcoming meeting on the topic of your choice. Please start planning your lecture and gathering data to present your findings in 2010. Register online today!

Also, please take the time to update our records by downloading the Contact Form so that we will be able to stay in touch. There is an area available for you to tell us what you would like to see the Institute provide to make it most valuable to you. We look forward to seeing you February 4-6, 2010.

Very Sincerely yours,

Paul A Stone DPM, FACFAS
